( Eos Painting by Evelyn De Morga)

The woods decay, the woods decay and fall,
The vapours weep their burthen to the ground,
Man comes and tills the field and lies beneath,
And after many a summer dies the swan.
Me only cruel immortality
Consumes: I wither slowly in thine arms,
Here at the quiet limit of the world,

OZYMANDIAS

I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them on the sand,
Half sunk, a shatter’d visage lies, whose frown
And wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamp’d on these lifeless things,
The hand that mock’d them and the heart that fed.
And on the pedestal these words appear:

Ezekiel’s Commission

1 Then He said to me, “Son of man, eat what you find; eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel.” 2 So I opened my mouth, and He fed me this scroll. 3 He said to me, “Son of man, feed your stomach and fill your body with this scroll which I am giving you.” Then I ate it, and it was sweet as honey in my mouth.

Returning Home Together After Fulfilling the Wish: A New Being in Heaven and Earth

Shui Zhi

wang-lixuan-and-her-son-home.jpg

Brief introduction to the painting:

Title: Returning Home Together after Fulfilling the Wish: A New Being in Heaven and Earth / Chinese Painting
Author: ShuiZhi (Tokyo, Japan)
Size: 200cm x 90cm

On November 7th 2000, in the TuanHe labor camp, a tragedy that caused much sadness and indignation took place: Wang Lixuan, a very kind young mother and her 8-month-old son Hao Meng were both found dead in jail. With extreme sadness, Wang Lixuan’s parents witnessed the heart-breaking signs of abuse on their daughter and grandson’s bodies: Wang Lixuan’s neck and collar bones were broken, her skull was crushed, and a needle was left in her waist. There were two deep scars on her baby’s ankles and two bruise spots on his head, and his nose was full of blood. All these indications of torture have been confirmed by a forensic physician, who indicated that it was very likely that the baby had been shackled at the ankles and hung upside down.

Wang Lixuan and her son were the 93rd confirmed cases of Falun Dafa practitioners being tortured to death from Jiang’s evil persecution of Falun Gong. In October 2000, Wang Lixuan and her 7-month-old son, who was still breast feeding at that time, were taken into custody and detained in the TuanHe labor camp because she tried to clarify the truth about Falun Dafa and appealed to the government to stop the persecution of Falun Gong. In the labor camp the authorities tortured them in many different ways in an attempt to force her to give up Falun Gong.

Urashima Taro

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

urishimataro.jpg

A young fisherman named Urashima Taro lived in a small fishing village by the southern shores of Japan. One day, while walking along the seashore, Taro saw a group of kids shouting with glee. They were standing around an object lying on the beach. When Taro came nearer he saw that they were tormenting a turtle.

Taro felt sad for the turtle. He turned to the children and said, “Don’t be cruel to the turtle. You should be kind to animals. If you set the turtle free, I’ll give you some money.”

Taro bought the turtle’s freedom, took it to the water’s edge and set it free. The turtle disappeared into the waves. A few days later Taro was out to sea fishing in his boat when a big turtle appeared.

Israeli press conference lauds 30 million resignations from CCP

2008-1-10-partyover.jpg

Israeli Epoch times staff and human rights advocates announce support for 300 million Chinese people quitting the CCP. (The Epoch Times)

On January 6, a press conference was held in front of the Chinese embassy in Tel Aviv, announcing that over 30 million Chinese people renounced their membership in the Chinese communist party and its affiliated organizations. “Renouncing” the party is not something to be taken lightly when it comes to the Communist dictatorship in China.

Houyi Shot Down Nine Suns

Epoch Times Staff originally posted May 31, 2006

houyi-shootting-down-nine-suns.jpg

Houyi was said to be a god that came to the human world during the time of the pre-historic Emperor Yao. At that time, there were ten suns that rose at the same time over the sky, scorching the earth and withering the crops. Rivers and lakes were drying out. Forest started to burn, driving out monstrous beasts to prey on people. Human life on earth became unbearable.

The suffering in the human world alarmed heaven. The Heavenly Emperor sent Houyi, a masterful arrow shooter, to come to the human world to help alleviate human suffering. (more…)

The Wheel Within a Wheel

Ezekiel 1 (5-10)

5 And the sound of the cherubims’ wings was heard even to the outer court, as the voice of the Almighty God when he speaketh.

6 And it came to pass, that when he had commanded the man clothed with linen, saying, Take fire from between the wheels, from between the cherubims; then he went in, and stood beside the wheels.

dore-gustav.jpg

7 And one cherub stretched forth his hand from between the cherubims unto the fire that was between the cherubims, and took thereof, and put it into the hands of him that was clothed with linen: who took it, and went out.

8 And there appeared in the cherubims the form of a man’s hand under their wings.

ascension.jpg

9 And when I looked, behold the four wheels by the cherubims, one wheel by one cherub, and another wheel by another cherub: and the appearance of the wheels was as the colour of a beryl stone.

christlight1.jpg

10 And as for their appearances, they four had one likeness, as if a wheel had been in the midst of a wheel.

The Elohim

Thursday, January 17th, 2008

        Psalm 82.1 says:

elōhîm (’God’) stands in the council of ’ēl
he judges among the gods (elohim).

An archaic phrase appears in Isaiah 14.13,

kôkkêbê ’ēl ’stars of God’, referring to the circumpolar stars that never set, possibly especially to the seven stars of Ursa Major.
